Our state-of-the-art facilities are tailored to meet the specific needs of exotic pets, providing a safe and comfortable environment for every species. These facilities include specialised wards designed for optimal healing, two fully equipped operating theatres, and advanced diagnostic tools such as in-house laboratory testing, avian disease screening, digital radiography, and ultrasonography.

We also offer comprehensive services such as exotic dentistry, including dental X-rays, pre-hibernation health checks, tailored consultations on exotic animal husbandry, and the supply of high-quality food and supplements.

Our exotic pet care services serve as an extension of the provisions offered by first-opinion vets, ensuring pets receive the specialised care they need.

We treat a wide range of species, including:

  • Small Mammals: Rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, degus, rats, hamsters, African pygmy hedgehogs, and ferrets.
  • Birds: From budgies and macaws to birds of prey and backyard chickens.
  • Reptiles: Snakes, lizards, tortoises, and turtles.
  • Amphibians and Fish: Non-tropical species.

You can enjoy the benefits of our Pet Health Plan for rabbits and ferrets. We are happy to take referrals from other vets – please give the clinic a call to discuss a referral.

Frequently Asked Questions

We love questions, please do not hesitate to get in contact.

  • What qualifies as an Exotic Pet?

If you own a bird, reptile, small mammal like a rabbit or ferret, fish or amphibians, you get the best care at an exotic pet specialist vet. Whilst most clinics cater for dogs, cats and other popular furry companions, they might not always have the expertise and equipment to cater for your pet.

  • Do I need to book in advance to get Exotic Pets services?

Yes, please book your appointment in advance via our website so we can allocate the right amount of time for you and your pet. It only takes a few minutes to book, and you can reschedule if plans change. You can also call the Exotic Vets clinic directly to book or reschedule at (01) 272 3857.

  • How much does it cost to get Exotic Pets services?

Exotic pet consultation appointments start from 64.49. Please see the pricelist for a full overview of prices.

Members of our Pet Health Plan only pay € 24 per month with vet consultations included and discounts on dental checks and many other services.

  • Do exotic pets require regular vet visits?

Yes, routine visits are essential to monitor health and address unique care needs. We recommend annual check-ups for your exotic pet to ensure your pet is healthy and gets good preventative care. Keeping vaccinations up to date also helps to protect your pet. We will send you reminders when your vaccinations are due.

  • What happens if I don’t get Exotic Pets services?

Without regular check-ups for your pet, they might develop a health condition which may lead to more serious health issues later.
