With over 40 years of exotic animal veterinary experience, Bairbre and her team have a remarkable track record of successfully treating over 120 species of exotic pets. These include rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, parrots, birds of prey, chameleons, tortoises, owls, and snakes. As an esteemed exotic vet and Associate Lecturer in Exotic Species at UCD, Bairbre O'Malley leads our team of highly experienced exotic veterinary surgeons and nurses, all of whom possess extensive training in handling and providing exceptional care to these fascinating species.

Our exotic vet services serve as an extension of the clinical provisions offered by 1st opinion vets. This includes a variety of imaging modalities, medical and surgical diagnoses, and treatments. Our clinic features dedicated exotic wards and consulting rooms, providing specialised care for the following species:
- Small Mammals – rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas , degus, rats, hamsters, African pygmy, hedgehogs, and ferret.
- Birds – parrots ( from small budgies to large macaws)birds of prey to backyard pet chickens
- Reptiles – snakes, lizards, tortoises, turtles.
- Amphibians and fish ( non-tropical)
