Meet Our Lead Vet – Sorcha Delargy, DVM, BSc
Sorcha has been a valued member of the Village Vets family since she graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest. She began her journey with us in Village Vets Coolock before making the exciting move to lead our Raheny clinic.
With a strong background in science – including a degree in Zoology from UCD – Sorcha brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. She has a special interest in ultrasonography and surgery, as well as dermatology, where she enjoys working closely with clients to develop tailored treatment plans for their pets.
When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll likely find Sorcha running with the Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club!
Meet Our Head Nurse – Caoimhe Farrell, BSc VN, Cert VN ECC
Caoimhe brings over 17 years of veterinary experience to Village Vets Raheny. The first step in her career was studying the Animal Assistance course in Killester College before going on to study Veterinary Nursing in UCD. Throughout this time and after graduating she worked in a busy small animal practice where she gained valuable experience in patient care, anaesthesia and orthopaedic surgery. After ten years in first opinion practice she moved into emergency and critical care where she stayed for over 3 years and earned a certificate in this field along the way. She joined Village Vets in 2021 and has been a driving force in maintaining our high standards of patient care ever since.
Caoimhe is deeply passionate about ensuring our patients receive the best possible care, always going the extra mile to stay up to date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.
Outside of work, she’s a dedicated runner, a big music fan and a proud supporter of Dublin GAA!
Meet Shauna – Animal Care Assistant & Fear-Free Advocate
With 10 years of experience in animal care, Shauna’s journey started in animal behaviour and training before she transitioned into veterinary care. She has been a valued member of the Village Vets Raheny team for over two and a half years.
Shauna is particularly passionate about fear-free handling and has completed additional training, including a Fear Free Certification to enhance her skills in reducing stress for pets during their visits. She has a special interest in feline-friendly medicine and regularly ensures the clinic and team are up to date with the latest standards in feline care.
At home, Shauna is kept busy by her own three cats, a dog, and a tortoise!
